The brief, which we co-developed with restaurant operator the Ellerman Group, was to transform a traditional bistro style restaurant into the group’s first casual dining experience with a funky street theme.
How do you do ‘street’ in a leafy Dublin suburb? Go BIG and go BOLD with a modern and spirited brand and interior design theme. We infused Max’s with loads of attitude, and created its brioche bun mascot Max to be the guy behind the restaurant’s “Great burgers and great tunes” ethos. Pop art, cascading logos, diner style packaging design, bespoke graffiti, and vibrant neon all bring a New York vibe to this coastal Clontarf home. We designed all brand touch points including its app, socials, menus, packaging, uniforms and of course the illustration for our burger-loving friend Max.
